Emu Runner premiered at TIFF in 2018, where it was nominated for the People's Choice Award. It was also nominated for Best Indie Film at the AACTA Awards and the ADG's Best Director, feature under $1M. It won the Independent Film Peer Award at the Gold Coast Film Festival, best Asia Pacific Film at the Hawaii International Film Festival, the Michel Award for Best Children's Film at the Hamburg Film Festival, and The Age Critic's Award at MIFF.
